A river walk and peek at my garden

Hello! Happy First Day of Summer!  Actually we have been having summer weather for well over a  month now so my head is a bit confused! The fantastic weather makes anything and everything beautiful.

Last Sunday morning, we went for an short walk along the river. Come and have a look.

It was such a lovely time of the morning. There were only a few people out, along with some duckies on the water.

In our garden, I've found two surprising lovely ladies blooming in our back lane! These are Hollyhocks and this is the first time I've seen them bloom. They are so gorgeous!
Pholx in pink-purple shades.
I love this photo of the white hydrangeas. You can see how huge this shrub is! Looking at it I feel like I am looking at an orchestra!
In case you are wondering, Daisy is doing just fine, loving napping by the open window.
Comatose Cat!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week my friends!

Beautiful photos Melissa. The Hollyhocks are especially gorgeous. We had some growing in our garden when we first moved in, but I haven't had any luck growing them since then.

What a cute cat photo! The walk looks quite delightful. The flowers are so pretty. I have never been able to grow hollyhocks! I have no idea why!

A beautiful walk along the river. A little river or brook is the only thing that I miss during my morning walks.
These Hollyhocks are just gorgeous, we don't have them in our garden (I think) maybe I should tell DH about them. I have only stitched them so far. Your hydrangeas are wonderful, ours are still not blooming but when they do we will have a lot of them, too.

Well Melissa, we have gone back to very cool weather. Our average temps are around thirteen degrees which is awful for this time of year. I feel as though summer is never going to arrive here in Scotland.
I love that photo of Daisy, so relaxed:-)

Beautiful! I planted hollyhock seeds this year. Will see if I get some! Have had them in the past. So pretty.

What a pretty walk Melissa - both the river and your garden! I should look into hollyhocks - they are wonderful for pollinators like bees and hummers.

Nothing does it like a long walk on a brilliant Sunday morning. Thanks for sharing it with us. The picture of the hollyhocks has a lot of nostalgia for me. We had them growing around the bay window of my childhood home. Haven't seen them in person in years, but even just your picture brings me back to Illinois during the summer months.

I'm so glad you are having such great summer weather this year, Melissa. Your flowers are obviously responding well--they look great! I had hollyhocks last year--the flowers were gorgeous, but the leaves all got eaten by something. The same thing is happening this year with my hydrangeas...

What a pretty place to walk--my sister so loved your part of the world :)

Hope your weekend will be fun and relaxing (and not TOO hot--I hear you're having a heatwave in the northwest?)...
