First finish of 2015

My first finish of 2015 may be a surprise to a lot of you. It's a freebie from Examplars from the Heart from 2009 called Berry Sampler. I've had this hanging around for years and I'm so glad I finally got to stitch it.

She's a sweet one. I used DMC floss and also substituted whatever I'd felt like since the original was stitched using Hand Dyed Fibers.

If you are interested in stitching this I think you need to contact Vilma at her blog for the freebie since I think she's taken her freebies off her site.

It's been great to see stitching from many of you so early in the year. We are off to a great start!  I have been stitching smalls and I will need to get my sewing machine out soon and do some finishing.

Speaking of my sewing machine, lookee here - I made Mama-to-be-Anne a tunic for her and the growing bean!  Doesn't she look great? Her husband took this photo. Note the lovely stitching all around! Bonus photo!

Well, that's all I have for this week. It's been a funny week of settling back into, or at least trying, routine. I really want to get back to doing some sewing (dressmaking) soon. I've been saying that and saying that but kept getting sidelined!

Thanks for visiting with me. I'm so pleased to find new followers (welcome!) which helps me to keep on stitching...because I am such a show-off! ;-)

Question - what are you stitching today?

Have a great week!

What a gorgeous photo of Anne! Your tunic looks so stylish yet comfortable. I love the Berry Sampler, the blues are so vivid and unusual in a piece like this.
I'm stitching a little Autumn House as one of my new starts for Debbie's Crazy January Challenge, which is all browns and one red, and those blue birds have given me an idea!

You did a lovely job with the freebie--I might look into it, cause I really like the quaker-ish flowers and there are no people in it! Anne looks so pretty in the tunic you made! Very nice of you! I am going to finish the Blackbird piece 'Song of Spring' tonite! Then I will pick one of my other WIPs... decisions, decisions. Hugs!

You're right! That is a sweet little freebie. I think I have it somewhere on my computer, I just have to organize my freebies one day. (if I ever find time) Today I am stitching Present Reindeer from Sharon (Daffycat) Should have it started and finished today. (the x-stitching anyway) the actual ornament finishing will be another day.

Lovely finish and lovely tunic Melissa. Don't keel over but I'm actually stitching a design by With Thy Needle and Thread - it's a spring design and the name has escaped me. I'm trying to stitch a tiny bit each day to get me back into the swing of things.

Ahh! There I am! Lol! Thanks for posting! I'll be doing a post maybe today since I'm home sick and have nothing better to do than be on the couch. Love your new little finish. What a sweet freebie! As for stitching...I've been making a fellow colleague a little BBD freebie for her retirement. That and stitching on Sarah Chapple. I want to see how much I can get done before the baby arrives!! Hugs to you and thank you again for the beautiful tunic!

You are such a sweet friend to make that lovely tunic for dear Anne! How did you know it would fit her? Oh, that's right--you have met in person :) She looks so cute in it (glowing, as they say!). It is very comfy looking, too!

I love that you are stitching again, too, Melissa--this is another cute design. Love the big sunflowers and the bluebirds in the garden area :)

Enjoy your time in the sewing room / stitching chair this weekend!
