Seven Sheep Sampler - finished!

Hello, lovely people! It's been awhile since my last post. I've just been keeping busy...I think Spring gardening does that to me...and I think I've just been feeling scattered. Well, never mind, as I have a finish to show you! YES! The Seven Sheep Sampler is done!

I begin the parade with a photo of my pink tree peony bloom as it's the same colour pink as in my sampler! It's also a huge bloom, just like this sampler! Here we go...

Started March 29, 2014, Finished May 13, 2014
Whew! It is the biggest sampler I've ever tackled. It was a lot of fun to stitch, though near the end, it seemed to take me forever. I felt the more I wanted to "rush" to get it done, the more I seem to be stitching with butter fingers! I am so happy it's finished.

I did make small colour changes here and there.  It is stitched on 36 count Vintage Sand Dune by Lakeside Linens. I used most of the called for silks but I did have to find a substitute for the Italian Gold. I ended up using mostly Gloriana's Lacquered Gold.

What's next? I have no idea and am not in a rush to stitch something straight away. We have so many plans for the garden that I will probably be spending more time outside (weather permitting) either in the garden or the garden centres! ;-)

My roses are not quite in bloom yet but I can show you our amazing white wisteria.
The scent is heavenly too!

I hope to get back to regular posting next week! Thanks for dropping by. Your comments are always much appreciated! (Let me know what you would suggest for a next project.)  Have a great week!

Ahhhh, here it is, finished, this wonderful sampler. And in just 6 weeks, wow. You have created a real beauty here with so many pretty details. Congratulations!

Your wisteria is looking so great. And your garden is so beautiful. It's so green, just the way nature is looking here. We ar e just waiting for the rain to stop to be able to do some well needed work in our garden.

Congrats on a very beautiful finish.

Your wisteria and peony are lovely. There's not much flowering around here at the moment so it's nice to see some blooms.

Wow!! What a great finish!!!! It is gorgeous~~
I hear you on those butter fingers!!! I am having the same symptom right now. The more I try to rush a piece, the more obstacles I'm getting... I guess I just have to take it slow~
It's always a joy seeing all the beautiful flowers from your garden~ They are so lovely!!

Ah... I've been waiting for this post! And what a beauty Seven Sheep is, Melissa! You know I'm not a sampler stitcher, but if I were to become one some day (when I have more stitching time!), I'd come right to your blog for inspiration. I always love your choices and the colors you pick :)

Love that white wisteria, too--I've only seen the purple before. Happy gardening and project selecting, my friend!

It is so nice that most of us are finally having good weather. I heard it was 38 in Chicago yesterday tho... and didn't it snow in Colorado this week?? It rained heavy here yesterday but the sun is out and it is beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
