A New Day, A New Chapter!

Hello there!  Can you hear the big Smile in my voice? Yes sir-reeeee, I'm a free woman: free from getting up with the alarm clock, free from worrying about work, free from a pay cheque...never mind about that last bit for now! Whew, last day of work was Friday and on Saturday it was like someone let all the air out of me, I was a puddle on the floor and I was just exhausted.

I am glad to report I am feeling much better now after a couple of days of leisure, AND there is also a change in weather and we have sunshine!  All in all I'm slowly perking up from my wilted state.

I will have some framing to show in later posts. For now, I will show you my next project - Bird in Bough by The Scarlet Letter. I have had this in my stash for ages and because of Nicola's Challenge I decided that this would be a great first project.

I just loved stitching with AVAS silks again - so buttery!

I wasn't kidding when I said I was just bagged out the last 2 days. I was feeling sick complete with sore throat threatening to take me down! So, I sat and read. I napped. I didn't stitch though as I thought my tired brain would just let me make too many mistakes!

Today I felt better so went out in the sunshine and brought these beauties inside for my vases.

That's it - a very short post today but I hope to be back more often this month! Thanks for visiting and I hope you are getting some nice early summer weather your way too!

Ah Melissa! You deserve to relax for a while. Sorry you were feeling sick, but it sounds like you are better now. I love your next project! Thanks for reminding me. I'd better order the silks asap -- I have the chart. It's a small one too, so manageable. lol! I love your beautiful flowers. Gorgeous!! Looking forward to seeing your framing!

Congrats on being job free! I can sense just how happy and relaxed you are now. I had worked full time for 34 yrs when I retired and it took me several weeks to shed the fatigue and relax.
I love your new stitch! I wish I had joined this challenge but I don't have a single design by The Scarlet Letter.
Enjoy your new-found time!!

What a relief that that stress-filled job is now a thing of the past, Melissa! I know it will take you a bit to let down fully and just relax, but that will come in time... Enjoy your summer in the garden and quietly stitching your beautiful new sampler.

I am so glad you're feeling better, Melissa! I'm glad you were able to relax a bit and let your body get back to feeling normal. Your new WIP is wonderful and I know once you really get going on it I'm going to think "Now why didn't I notice how beautiful that piece is?". The basket of flowers is gorgeous and I love your header. Have you ordered the Sarah Chapple chart yet? I haven't quite caved, too many irons in the fire for me right now but I want it. I must have it!

Ahhh, Melissa, I am so happy for you! It must be so wonderful to be far away from the work load you were having these past months - and knowing that you needn't return to it. Your new stitching project is perfect for celebrating your new state.
It happens often that you get ill when the stress is taken away from you but I hope that you already feel better by now and can enjoy the warm weather, your garden and your stitching.
