200th Post has got to have more substance

Hello all. Thank you for all your sweet comments about Elizabeth S. I am so enjoying stitching her now and your encouragement certainly helped propel me along!

Today, I realized this is my 200th post. Lately I felt very rushed when I do my posting, and I never get to say all that I told myself I would say. So here is a post with a bit more content than usual:
  • Update on Elizabeth Savilles of course!
  • Blogger Comments settings (yes, once again)
  • Audio books recommendations
  • Garden stars this past week
Stitching progress on Elizabeth:
Woo-hooo! I got a lot stitched since last week. That's the up side of rainy days! I am really enjoying stitching her now that I have decided I can make changes as I go. Some of those "missing" stitches may be "found" later too. I will see how I feel about filling in the little bits as I go. (ps I am so delighted with how she is looking!)

Blogger Comments Settings:
Some of us cannot leave comments on blogs where the comment setting is "embedded". I have mentioned this in the past but this problem has gotten worse as Blogger has made the "embedded" option as the default when people set up new blogs.

I have looked but have not found "the cure" other than if the owner of the blog changes the setting to "pop up window" or "full page". I have let a few blog owners know and most are very happy to know this as they want people to be able to leave comments. You are under no obligation, of course to change this, but I thought I would let you know of this problem some of us have.

To change the setting, when you are logged into Blogger and see your Dashboard, etc, select Settings on the left hand column, then select Post & Comments. Under Comments there is a drop down box. There you can select "Full Page" or "Pop Up Window" should you so choose.

If you have any questions, please email me. Thank you.

Audio books recommendations:
Good stories to listen to always help my stitching!

Garden stars this past week:

BIG, Bold, Beautiful pink Peonies followed by small, tiny-in-comparison Astrantia, then a photo of my small veggie patch.

Despite all the rain, the garden is still going! Some of the berries are behind schedule as there hasn't been enough sun but it will come. Today, as a matter of fact, is Sunny! How long it will stay is another matter.

Julius and Daisy say *yawn* It's Nap Time! Actually, it's always nap time for them! Cats are amazing at their abilities to snooze anywhere, anytime!

Any plans for summer vacation? We will be hanging around close to home me thinks.

Thank you once again for your visits! Hope you are enjoying some nice weather. Have a great week!

Your flowers are sooooo pretty!!!! Julius and Daisy are adorable! Isn't it funny how much cats sleep? I'm always amazed at how much Mia sleeps and sleeps.

Melissa, your sampler is coming along nicely and your flowers are gorgeous. We've had a lot of rain here too and not as much sunshine as we would like. Those cats sure know how to spend a lazy afternoon!

Congrats on 200 posts Melissa! You have gotten so much done on Elizabeth! Wow!! Your flowers are so pretty. I have to buy my peonies from Trader Joes. I also bought an orchid and hoping it won't die like it's predessors. I wish I had a green thumb! =) I never travel in the summer...too hot. But I am debating if I should do a long road trip to Portland/Seattle or a short road trip to Cambria/San Luis Obispo in the Fall...

Those are some contented felines!! :) And I love your current project - wonderful design and colors. I envy your garden - not much in mine that's above dirt level yet. Late spring, and I got a late start .... :P

Elizabeth is looking gorgeous, and congratulations on 200 posts! I love the tips you give on configuring Blogger to make it easier for everyone. I absolutely despise the word verification. Not sure why people think they'll get flooded with spam, I haven't had any trouble since I turned it off months ago.

Congratulations on your 200th post!!! Woo Hoo! Love how your Elizabeth is coming along. You've made some great progress.

And thank you for the book recommendations. I still haven't gotten myself to come over to the dark side as far as audio books. I still like the real thing in my hand, but I'm going to make note of your recommendations. I'm always looking for a good book.

Congratulations on the 200th post! You go girl! :) Here's to 2,000 more. ;)

Elizabeth looks great! Love the picture of the kitties, too. Thanks for the book recommendations. After a lot of hullabaloo thanks to an inefficient postal system, my daughter and I are finally proud owners of Kindles. I'm excited about the reading prospects with it. :)

Congratulations on your 200th post!! I hope to see many, many more from you! :)
Elizabeth is so pretty!
Your flowers are lovely - glad you are enjoying some sunny weather!
I have a soft spot for orange cats.:) So sweet the way they are snuggled up together. My cats did that when they were younger.
Always love some good book recommendations!

You sure have made good progress on Elizabeth. So good that you're now enjoying stitching her. She is so pretty and the colours work so well.

Lovely pics from your garden and the cats!

Congrats on your 200th post - may there be many more.

Julius and Daisy! My favourite photo of all these beautiful photos! I can never ever take a photo like that of our cats, it's impossible for them to sleep like that.

The sampler looks beautiful and so do your garden photos. Gorgeous peonies!

Pretty, pretty, pretty. Elizabeth is so pretty ^.^

Hmm... didn't know about the comments problem. Then again, I'm using Chrome which as far as I can tell, makes blogger behave. Luckily I've always like the pop up setting for my blog though :)

Whoa, those are full blown peonies. Gorgeous!

Your kitties are too adorable. Did you know cats spent two third of their lifetime sleeping? Read that little trivia somewhere.

Hugs,
Veronica.

Good morning, Melissa :) Finally catching up on blog reading after being away... Congratulations on your 200th post!! At the rate I'm going, I'll never make it to that milestone!

Your stitching is looking just lovely--I never get tired of seeing those pretty colors. And obviously your flowers really love all the rain they've been getting. Please send some east--we need it badly!

Sending the kitties a hug--I miss mine so badly. It was 5 years ago this month that we had to say farewell to him...

Great post! Congrats on 200!!
Your stitches are lovely ~ I really love the colors of this piece.
Beautiful flowers too! We are in the midst of a heat wave, so the rain sounds good to me if you'd like to share!

Oh, what wonderful pictures of your garden flowers. And they have the perfect colour for me, all sorts of pink and purple. Great!
Your sampler looks terrific and you've made some very nice progress on it. Just wonderful.

Congrats on 200 posts! I'm so glad that I found your blog.
Elizabeth is truly lovely! I love the colours you've chosen and I think it was wise to change your fabric too.

I have been enjoying your many garden pics. I miss having roses in my garden. Growing up in Windsor our yard was full of them but the climate here is a little colder and I haven't had much luck with them.

Your kitties are adorable!

200 posts oh my!! I'm with you on the feeling of rushing through posting. We should take our time and remember all we want to say!! I've posted about the blogger comments before and am glad you have as well. I use Chrome though for those embedded comments that make my internet all buggy!! Gorgeous peonies! I can smell them from here!! Big hugs to your kitties too! I would love to be part of that nap time!! Looks comfy there!
