May starts off with winners and a new finish

Yesterday it poured and it continued into the early morning today. Then, voila, the sun came out! How long it will stick around is anyone's guess but it's a nice optimistic start to May!

First off, announcing winners of the 3 giveaways in April.

#1 - "For My Friend" book by Blackbird Designs goes to Lynn of Kearnel's Korner!

#2 - "My Sampler House" kit by Not Forgotten Farms goes to Barbara of Mainely Stitching!

#3 - "Quaker Faith" kit by Little by Little goes to Lisa of The Inspired Stitcher!

Congratulations! I want to thank everyone for playing along. It was very interesting to read the answers to my questions!

Now I have a finish to show you! A slow unveiling. Can you guess what it is?
Well, maybe that wasn't too telling. How about this photo?
And this one? Getting warm now, I'd guess!

This is Eveline Cunningham from the Loose Feathers Winter booklet by Blackbird Designs. I changed the wording to say  "May your days be Merry & Bright". I wanted a festive feel to it because of the reindeer and the lovely pomegrantes. You like?

I have started a reproduction sampler but I am struggling a bit with the colours they picked - totally not like the photo of the original so I am playing the "adaptation" game!

I will close with a photo of looking up the skirts of that big cherry tree out on the street! All the blossoms are gone now so this is a nice remembrance.

Thank you again for your visits. It was fun to get the comments when I had the giveaway so I hope you will keep it up! ;-)

Enjoy your week!

Pretty photo of the tree - we still have blossom over here. It's frustrating when colours don't quite match up to the photo of a design, I'm not good at choosing alternatives and end up changing my mind time and time again.

Congratulations to your winners! That was a fun contest!
Love your Miss Eveline Cunningham finish, Melissa! She turned out great and I love your addition of "May you days be Merry and Bright" at the bottom. I really love those flowers in the border and that deer is so cute! Wonderful job, as always!
So... which repro are you working on? Seems the last 3 I've done, I had to change the threads. ARGH! Good luck! I'm sure what you choose will be beautiful!

Congratulations to the winners--three of my favorite blogging friends :)

Oh, your new finish is so, so pretty, Melissa--love your wording change. Did you use the suggested colors for this one? You are always so good at adapting colors to charts that I'm sure your new reproduction sampler will be as pretty as those you've already stitched :) Looking forward to seeing it!

Congrats to the winners!! I love your new BBD finish! Lovely personalized saying too!! The cherry blossoms are indeed falling but I do spy some still out in bloom, like at the New West Quay!! The rain stopped again this morning so I'm hoping that the sun will try and stay out for a bit today!! Can't wait to see what repro you started...I'm sure your choice of colours will be perfect!

Hugs

Thank you so much Melissa! I was thrilled when you emailed me. It was such a fun giveaway too.

I love how you've changed Eveline Cunningham! I stitched this one in blues for a memorial for my Dad but I just might steal your idea and restitch it in the called for shades.
