The 10-Day Challenge

Hello! It is  Friday evening here and the start of a week off. The time off was very last minute and it was made just because work slowed right down to a grinding halt. Hopefully it will pick up again in a week's time. Meanwhile, I thought it would be a great time to catch up on a lot of things! One of them is to post! Then I thought, why not try posting every day for 10 days until I get back to work, hence, the 10-day challenge!

I promise you will see some stitching EVERY day, at every post! So, to start...
 The Birdhouse Sampler
by Prairie Schooler

This was stitched with the recommended DMC on 40 count Days Gone By linen which is a very pretty linen. I enjoyed stitching the design but it was a strain stitching on 40 count!

The next 2 photos are of a David Austin rose called Fragrant Dream. You can see the lovely colour when in bud, and how it fades as it is in full bloom. We have had this little rose for years and it has moved house with us.

We bought a pot of white lilies this year and planted them. They did really well.
Did you collect these little Hallmark birdies? They came out many years ago and I collected Christmasy ones and so on, but this one is near and dear to my heart! Somehow I think it embodies my whole philosophy of Life. lol.

Well, that's it for this post! Will you come back and visit me every day? Oh and a comment even to say "hi" would be cool. I'm collecting those!

See you ta'morra!

Well, I think you're a very brave woman, with your 10 day challenge! I can't promise to visit every day, but I will try.

Oooh, I love that birdhouse sampler! I've had it for ages and now I want to stitch it. Thanks for that.

Love your PS Birdhouse piece, it's beautiful!

Your summer flower photos are gorgeous too. There are signs of spring around here (even though it's still a way off), I saw some daffodils and blossoms this week.

Enjoy your week off. I am on annual leave this week too... but we are heading away for a few days so not sure how much stitching and blogging I'll get in. But I'll look forward to your 10 days of posts anyway.

Your Hallmark birdie is so cute!

Yeay, posting every day! What a treat for us! :) I love your sampler--that is so cute on the Days Gone By (love that fabric). I have planned to stitch that series of PS samplers for years but no luck yet, of course.

Love the flower pics!

I'll email soon--I'm waaay behind on everything, as usual.

Oh this will be fun! I love seeing posts by you! You always have the best stitching pieces -- and your garden is always spectacular! Speaking of, love the PS piece! And love the garden! That rose in bud is sooo pretty!

Good for you for attempting to post for 10 days, Melissa :) I can barely manage twice a month anymore...

Your PS is one of my favorites--gorgeous, gorgeous work. I still need to frame mine--hopefully will get to it by the end of the summer.

And what a green thumb you have--that rose is spectacular! Amazing how the color changes like that.

Enjoy your weekend :)

Well here is a comment to add to your collection...lol.

Your stitching is beautiful. This is my first visit to your blog. You have stitched some gorgeous things. I really like your Garden of Eden. I haven't seen that one before and am now sorely tempted to find it!

The rose is very pretty. We have found the David Austin roses always seem to do well and have several different ones in our back, but I haven't seen that one before.

Enjoy your time off, unfortunately there never seems to be enough of it and it goes too fast when it gets here!

Take care

Oooh, I knew what that piece was the minute I saw it! I THINK I stitched it years and years ago, but I don't have it, so it must have been for Paulette.
Your roses are very beautiful.
Enjoy your time off..sounds like a wonderful plan to post daily. :)

Oh my gosh! Another awesome finish! I swear, you have been a busy, busy girl! I love this chart but oooh, not a fan of 40 count. Well, I'm a fan, love to look at what others have done on it but in no way do I enjoy working on it. If only the eyes weren't so old! Another wonderful finish, gf!
