Ann Taylor 1785

Ann Taylor 1785, by Heartstring Samplery, is finished! Here she is in all her prettiness!

I love her! Ann Taylor is stitched using the recommended DMC floss on 36 ct PTP Doubloon linen.   The first photo shows the colours best. I have thoroughly enjoyed stitching on her.  I want to stitch another of Beth's designs - 1763 Band Sampler.  If anyone has this chart and want to trade with my Ann Taylor, please email me.

I finished Ann a couple of days ago but have been faffing about what to stitch next.  I might just have to close my eyes and grab something out of the basket!

In the meantime, since my last post, I have been out in the garden whenever I can. You see, we had a bit of sun and dry weather for a few days and I had to get out there and do much needed clean-up. Otherwise, the weather here is pretty much wet, wet and more wet, like it is right now. I can hear the rain outside.

I love these primroses. After they finish flowering I want to finally divide them.

We had such a long cold and  wet winter. We've lost a few plants, but some seemed to have thrived. Here is one of our tree peonies. There were about 11 blooms this year! Spectacular!
Some of you have asked about our boy and how he's doing. He's been over in Germany for about a month now. There was the initial settling in (for him and for us!) that took a couple of weeks I think. Now he's doing fine and looks to be quite happy. Thank goodness for Skype!

I am enjoying my time off work just to sort myself out, so to speak. I can say this now but I couldn't see it before. Sometimes it just takes time to unwind, untangle from the every day noise and be in a different place - time to think and see things with a different set of eyes perhaps.

Thank you for taking your time to visit me and to leave a comment. I really do appreciate hearing from you. Enjoy your weekend!

Congratulations on finishing Ann, Melissa, she looks beautiful! I really love the colours on that fabric - I decided to treat myself to a piece of the same colour after seeing your WIP. Hope it arrives soon!

Glad that your son (and you) are doing OK.

Congratulations on the finish! What a gorgeous sampler. I love that linen, too.

Your flowers are so pretty. We lost more of our perennials this winter. I should try planting some flowering things instead.

I'm so glad that your son is settled in and that YOU are adjusting to him being away. I know how hard that is!

Ann Taylor is beautiful, Melissa. You always stitch such lovely samplers.

Love your flower photos - there's not much flowering in my garden right now, so I can live vicariously through blogs :-)

Glad you are enjoying your time off work.

So pretty! I love how it turned out! And the flowers are lovely--I'm wishing I had a tree peony now! We've had the opposite weather--hot, sticky, temps in the 90s, lots of sun and then a thunderstorm every afternoon. I'm emailing you because I have the 1763 sampler.

Dear Melissa, congratulations, your sampler is beautiful!! The colours are so wonderful.

Your flowers are very pretty too. We made a new flower bed and yesterday I understood for the first time in my life, why some people actually enjoy gardening :) It was great to plant all those small flowers and whisper gentle thoughts to them, so that they will enjoy their lives in my flower bed. I really, really hope I won't kill them all!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Gorgeous, gorgeous finish! I think I need to add this one to my stash. I need to start putting red pieces on my walls having redecorated earlier in the year and then buying new sofas in chilli red! So, my eye is being drawn to anything 'red' that could work and a need to fill bare walls!!! So glad DS is settling and that Skype is working well!!!!

Beautiful finish Melissa!! It turned out so pretty on that fabric!!

Congrats on your finish Melissa! Ann Taylor looks so lovely and it will look fantastic all framed up! Your peonies are so pretty but we definitely need more sun here and less rain!

Skype is the best invention to communicate with friends and family out of the country. I'm glad to hear your son is settling in and that you are taking some time for yourself. It is so necessary for our mental and physical health to step back a bit and unwind.

Take care!

Hugs
Anne
