My First A & E

Posting on a Monday is unusual for me, I know. I'm actually home, trying to get some rest so this bug doesn't get any worse. Hopefully an afternoon nap will help later. This will be a short post!

I didn't stitch much during the week since I went back to work, but I did spend a few hours yesterday catching up. I am stitching my first A&E! It is Permit me not to stray, by Heartstring Samplery. It is full of flowers and lovely colours, which unfortunately are not really coming through in my photos due to the dull day.

The first photo shows up the colours much better. It is stitched on WDW 'Parchment' so the linen is a soft yellow-brown.  It's another one with a border! Hmmm, I think I will have to make sure to do my next project without a border. It's a lovely stitch though.

I will now try and follow my kitties' example and get some rest!  Oh, before I forget - go and check out this video on Heidi's post. It's great, especially if you are a knitter!

Thank you for visiting!

I love your start! Being the A&E fanatic that I am, you know that I love it!!

I hear you on the borders! I hate them, but it you just do a little at a time, they will get done. I really like the border on this piece a lot.

Hope that you feel better. Get lots of rest!

What a lovely start! I love borders...may I ask why you begin yours at the bottom? Or am I the only one that starts at the top left?

Feel better and happy stitching!

Ooooh, you're stitching this one! I want to stitch it sometime too! It's really pretty! Hope you feel better soon. Such a bummer to be sick!

That looks like a nice and different type of adam and eve, can't wait to see more of it. I have come to the conclusion that I need a magnifier if I ever want to use good linens to stitch on.

I hope you feel better soon, this latest flu is putting a lot of people down.

So sorry to hear you've not been feeling well, Melissa...hopefully you'll get some rest and shake this bug!

Enjoy stitching your first A & E--I love those giant flower blooms hanging over their heads :)

You've made great progress, and I love this design--so striking with the A&E and the huge wonderful flowers. Hope you feel better; I also had a long nap this afternoon, which seemed to help a bit.

Hope you're recuperating nicely at home and feel better soon. I'm at home too, though I have some leave owing, not due to sickness like yourself. Nice work on A&E. It would be interesting to see what you come up with next time, without a border:) Be in touch soon though tomorrow I'm going shopping!
