Wash Day
by Carriage House Samplings
I want to thank Deb for showing this design on her blog in the first place and enabled us to harrass convince Kathy to sell it! I just love this sweet design. I used silks from my own stash. I modified the design slightly in that I didn't stitch the alphabet.
If you want to see how it 'should' look, as per designed, go check out fabulous Cari's blog. She also just had it framed, along with other beauties, by Jill Rensel so they are all pretty awesome! See them all here.
I received a sweet and beautifully decorated ornament from Anna this week.
Wow, so pretty. Thank you Anna! I was amazed it arrived unbroken as well. Anna said in her note "if it arrives broken, just eat it! " ;-)
How are your Christmas preparations going? Ours have been very low keyed this year due to various reasons, which is just fine with me. We just went out this morning to get some groceries in our neighbourhood and the traffic! Oy, just let me get home and away from the crowds!
Thank you for all your visits, for those who leave comments and those who are too shy to (maybe next year?). I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season! (Now, please excuse while I indulge in a nap!)

Wash Day looks great ! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
A beautiful finish and a glorious ornament from Anna :)
It's so pretty!
So pretty! I love your changes, it turned out perfect. Happy Holidays Melissa....
Ah, your birdbath finish is darling - I've yet to stitch mine but you know if you do it, I'll probably not be too far behind!
Love the pic of your paperwhites and your little angel is just darling.
Merry Christmas, Melissa!
What a sweet piece, Melissa! Your color changes are always so beautiful.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Beautiful finish! I love it! Love Cari's too! We've been very low key this year too, for various reasons. Hopefully it'll be relaxing here at least! I hope you have a wonderful wonderful Christmas!
You may be thanking me for posting that on my blog, but I don't think that Kathy was too thrilled! LOL But I'm so glad that you've finished it. It looks sweet and also a reminder that I need to do this one of these days!
That angel ornament is adorable and I'm glad that it was broken in shipping.
I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas Melissa!
Sweet design. Congrats on your finish.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas.
So pretty. I didn't have a chance to mention on your last post how perfect I found your frame choices (and project choices as well). Our Christmas is simple and uncomplicated this year also--much less rushing around, less concern about a perfectly decorated tree, perfectly chosen gifts, etc. I have had a nap every single day since I started my "vacation," having quit my horrid job. And we went to the store today also, and were absolutely horrified at the cranky, pushy, desperate crowds. Eeek! Merry Christmas to you.
I've never seen that little design...sweet finish. Our Christmas has been very low keyed also (for various reasons) and I'm beginning to think it is going to be one of the best ever.
It's always fun to stop by your blog and look forward to doing so in 2011. Merry Christmas...hope you had a good nap!
Your finish is beautiful!!!
Your finish is so sweet! Love the ornament from Anna!
Merry Christmas to you!
Hi Melissa -- love Wash Day - it's in my stash to be stitched too one day.
Here's wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
Melissa,
Merry Christmas to you!
Big Hugs

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment on my blog. I love all your framed pieces in the previous post. You chose such beautiful frames for them all. I love the CHS piece, I think it's a great design.
Wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year.
Ah, so that is what paperwhites are lol.
Have a lovely Christmas and a very stitchy new year xxx
Great job!! I would love to stitch that sometime--maybe next year! Your finish is fantastic.
Love the ornament! How pretty!
Wishing you a blessed Christmas and a happy 2011.
Cute birds getting ready for Christmas :)
Wishing you a joyful Christmas!
I so have not been blog-reading as I should--what awesome stuff you've got going on here. Low-key Christmas is great, too.
:D
I have so many to-dos, but when I see your very fine sampler in the header, a voice in my head says, "Is this the year for you to make that?" lol! I LOVE it. :D Yours is too beautiful!
I'm all for laid back and that's how we're celebrating this year, too. I love Wash Day--it's gorgeous--it makes me want to go and stitch! :) Have a very Merry Christmas!
Love that piece. it is really beautiful.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Low key is nice.

I love your birds!!
Hope you've had a lovely Xmas, Melissa. Wash Day looks gorgeous - last finish for the year? I had a look at Cari's finishes from Jill Rensel - OMG! They're all fabulous!!
Our Xmas went well. It's Boxing Day here now and I'm just taking it easy.
Pretty finish!!!!
Melissa...somehow or other, I missed seeing this post, so sorry! I hope that your Christmas was extra Merry!! Gosh those paper whites are gorgeous!!! Also love your ornament cookie, so pretty!
Last but not least, your birdbath finish, it is adorable and definitely one I hope to stitch someday!
Wonderful stitching! :D Best wishes for the New Year!
Beautiful finish! Wishing you a happy new year!
Wash Day looks wonderful. Congrats!
I too stitched Wash Day after seeing it on someone's blog. I really like how it looks without the alphabet and I love how you personalized it.
Just love your "Wash Day" - I will have to find this one and put it at the top of my 'to do' pile.
Melissa, I loved this one so much that I have copied your "Wash Day" to my wish list. I do hope you won't mind, but if you do just let me know. Thank you,
Mary
