Busy Busy Busy!!!

Well, it was bound to happen. Someone found out I've been having too much fun (e.g. stitching) and pressed the "Work" button so all of a sudden this past week I've been barely keeping my head above water. I'm ok - it's just like having had a relaxing vacation then returning to work trying to catch up. So, very little stitching this past week so I won't bother to show anything. However, keep reading because something good is coming.

First off, the winner of my Blogoversary giveaway is Lois - Congratulations! Lois has just finished a really cute Chartmaker design so go check out her blog.  She always has lovely things to show.

Now, since you were all so very kind with your comments on my blogoversary post, I thought I should have another giveaway. (Also because I have nothing stitchy to show at the moment!)

This is Mary's Best Handework, which I finished stitching in August. You can see it here.  The giveaway will contain my chart and I will include a piece of HDF 35 count linen.

If you are interested in the giveaway, please leave a comment specifically saying you want a chance to win it. Please be sure I can contact you via email.

If you are not interested in the giveaway, you can leave me a comment too!  I would love to know what October is like in your part of the world. Also, have you seen any new releases that you really must have?

For me, I've mentioned a couple of designs in my previous posts (Boris & Jane Tindall). This past week I've also seen some really cute new charts by Chessie & Me.  Theresa of Shakespeare's Peddler has all three in her Basket so if you scroll down you can see them - so cute! I haven't bought them yet but I'm sure I will!

September closed with fine weather (cool mornings and evenings, t-shirt weather during the day) which is continuing through the weekend. This means I will have to get out to the garden tomorrow to do clean-up and hopefully take some photos too.  To tell you the truth, I've felt exhausted this week but I think some sunshine, fresh air, and physical work will do me a world of good.

I just saw this cute new freebie today at gazette94.  I don't know the owner of the blog but she has some great designs on her site!

In closing I will show you a photo of my kitties. Daisy on the right is practicing her spooky Halloween cat look with her glowy eyes while Julius does what he loves to do at night, which is to crawl behind the curtains and look out the window.

Thank you for stopping by. Big hugs to you for leaving me such great, supportive comments!  Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Melissa, I would love to be included in your giveway please.
Here in Aus its starting to warm up now as we are approaching summer, nice warm days at the moment, not too hot, not too cold, just right!!

Hi Melissa! I would love to have a chance to win this wonderful chart. Your cats are just too cute - mine is curled up next to me on the couch and I work on my homework. Oh, that work button should be disconnected :-)

Enjoy your Sunday.

Oh, and hooray to Lois - congrats on winning!

Thanks for the chance. Have a great weekend.

What a cute piccie of your kitties. Mine love looking out the window too. They especially love the kitchen windowsill.

October in my part of New Zealand is often very wet and windy. It is not my favourite month, but at least it means that summer is just around the corner!

I would love to be included in your giveaway.

October in my part of the world consist of fluctuating temps 80 one day 50 the next, the leaves are changing color and the air smells crisp. Apples and cranberries are being picked and cool temps are around the corner.

I would definitely like to win the chart in this giveaway. I saw it when you stitched it and I really liked it.

I like Theresa's new designs, too. I heard she is going to start teaching classes and I think it would be fun to take a class with her. (no blog)

Hi, Melissa, please include me in your giveaway draw. Here in Singapore, the weather is either hot or raining. We had a heavy rainfall early this morning so it is not so hot now.

Congrats to Lois!!

I would looove a chance to win Mary!! Thanks for having another giveaway!

October has been great so far... we ended September with Ark worthy rain, but this weekend has shaped up beautifully! We are going to attempt the pumpkin patch tomorrow, and will hopefully have more success with pumpkins than we did with apples, lol!

Have a great weekend, Melissa!

I would like to be entered in your giveaway. Your kitties are so cute. I live in central Alabama, it is still in the high 80's here in the south. Happy Stitching !!

Please enter me into your drawing. I love With Thy Needle & Thread designs and I don't have this pattern yet. I live in Michigan and it has been a cool and partly rainy day, in fact I turned the furnace on this morning, first time this fall. I have to second your interest in the new Chessie & Me patterns. They are the stand out favorites for me from the show.

I have four cats of my own and love seeing pictures of your furry felines! Hope you are having an enjoyable weekend.

I'd like to have a chance at the chart giveaway, please! It may be October, but it is in the 80's here in Northern California. Last week it was in the 100s. This is unusual. There was something else you mentioned, but I've forgotten what it was!

Congratulations Lois!

I really have enjoyed reading your blog. You have some lovely finishes.

I would love to be entered in your giveaway. Love that chart.

Hi Melissa! Oooh, another giveaway! I'd love to participate :)

What a funny photo of your cats, so cute to hide behind the curtains. We have lots of birds visiting our trees at this time of the year and Pipari enjoyes watching them and making these odd sounds I can't describe in English :) She would like to catch them of course!

October is beautiful here, all the leaves are yellow and red now and the days are quite chilly. We've had mornings when the temperatures are below zero (I guess something like 30F) and the sun is shining! Perfect in my opinion. Christmas is nearer every day, so it's a wonderful month to wait :) Have a happy Sunday and I hope you'll soon have time to stitch!

I'm so thrilled to have won Melissa! Thank you!!!

October here? Well, you can get some lovely days when the sun is shining and there's just that certain type of light. Then you get the complete opposite, strong winds and pouring rain! October can be a month where you just never really know what it's going to be like!

Another lovely giveaway but given that I've just won your last one, and on the million-to-one chance that my name might be drawn again, I think it's only right that I should pass on this one. Good luck to everyone who enters!

I would love to enter your giveaway!
Hmmm Autumn in Ireland.

Well, we have outbreaks of sunshine which, with that lovely 'leafy'smell, tell you that summer is over. Unfortunately it has also been quite windy and wet, so no lovely golds or russets on the trees: just soggy, blight ridden leaves on the floor. A shame, as I so feel conned out of a proper autumn: the colours are what keeps our spirits up despite the shortening days.

Melissa, thanks for the chance to win a lovely sampler chart. I have always liked Brenda's designs.

I am excited about Jane Tindale too! Good luck with is gorgeous!

I love that piece, but I already have the chart. :D Sorry you're so busy at work. Such a bummer! Jane is on my need list, as is Boris and a couple of Jenny Bean and friends charts. I'm trying so hard to be good, but I think I'm failing. lol! Hope work slows down a bit for you!

Katrina said...

What a sweet giveaway, I have that chart so don't enter me. It would be a shame for me to have two and someone else to have none :-).

I love Jane Tindall and Boris, have them both and I also got the Chessie and me repro. All gorgeous pieces.

Vonna said...

I can relate to your blog post title :) I've been that way for at least the past three months and the future looks to be that way too...maybe by the first of the year I'll get to slow down :)
I did slow down a bit this weekend and finished two (almost three) St. Charles'll have to take a peek! I made a haul at my LNS when the new things came in and I won't tell you the total, but lets just husband shook his finger at me - I've got lots of working off to get done! LOL!
And since I have so many charts to stitch in this lifetime, please don't add my name to your hat, but know I wish all the others good luck!

Hello Melissa, Thank you for your visit on my blog, as you see, I love Autumn, and here in Paris (France) it was quite sunny and warm today, but last week it was cold and wet..The trees are wonderful, lots of nice colors everywhere, shiny chest-nuts on the ground ...

Hi Melissa!
Always so nice to see a post from you! Sorry work has gotten so busy...hope it eases up for you soon!
Don't enter my name for your wonderful giveaway, thanks to you inspiring me, I've already stitched that one :)
October is my favorite month! Simply because it's usually the first month the weather starts changing here in Texas, we'll get cooler temps and you can just tell autumn is here from the color of the sky. There is nothing like an October sky! My firstborn was born in Oct. too, so I've always had good memories of this month :)
Your kitties are too cute! I am partial to that Julius orange kitty, as I've mentioned before, he reminds me of my Chester kitty. That is too cute how he gets behind the curtains like that! Chester used to sit at our back patio door and put his head between the blinds (vertical), to look out. They like to know what's happening out there, lol!
Stay well my friend!

I'll take a chance! The first October weekend for me was filled with my boys baseball games, rain and cooler temps. I hope to find some time to go pick apples and bake pies!

Carol said...

Yay for Lois! She is the sweetest person and I know she'll love your gift, Melissa.

I'll throw my name in the hat for this is very sweet. October so far has been very cold and miserable--more like the end of the month than the beginning. With the heat and lack of rain we had all summer, the trees are not showing us their usual brilliant colors either...

Thanks for the kitty pic--I have to get my "fix" through others cat photos since my husband is allergic to them. We had one for 14 years, but I know he'll never give in and agree to another...

Hi Melissa,
Your giveaway is wonderful!
I've been dreaming about this beautiful sampler!
Add me to your list please!

Daisy and Julius are so fun and cute!
I have little kitty too.
And I know how nice to observe them :)

Jane said...

Firstly, those kitties of yours are just gorgeous! Love how Julius is hiding behind the curtain, not realising you're taking a picture of him. :) Then Daisy is in full form and 'striking a pose'.

October for me doesn't have any significant meaning really. We don't celebrate Halloween in a big way in Australia. Though it's still a good time to get those Halloween patterns out to stitch.

No real 'stand outs' for St Charles this year. Like you, I look forward to Nashville better.

Thanks for the update and I'll be in touch.

October began here with a chilly rain. There were not many brightly- colored trees due to the lack of rain. Many leaves just dried up and fell already.

I want to be entered to win the chart & fabric. I love samplers. My email is:

I really like Mary's Best Handwork, but won't enter my name as I have so much to do now and someone else may be ready to stitch it now.

I love October - it re-energizes me. The mornings are chilly but still in the later in the day.

Daisy looks too sweet to be scary!

Melissa, this is irresistable. You know how I adore Vikki's linens... and that chart is stunning.

Here in downeast Maine, October's off to a lovely start. It's sunny and windy during the day, the nights are cold and clear with just unbelievable starlight. The leaves are falling down fast and the kids get a kick out of the fallen leaves blowing off our van as if we were going a hundred miles an hour down the street. I love autumn. :)

Chessie & Me has a birth sampler release I'm toying with purchasing, and Shakespeare's Peddler has some more great Jenny Bean designs out. I'm going to try to stick mostly to picking up new fiber colors, though. Ha ha - I'm sure that will work out really well for me. ;)

Siobhan said...

I will pass on the giveaway since Mary's Best Handworke is a barely started WIP of mine, but thanks! And congrats to Lois on winning your other giveaway!

Autumn here is cold with changeable forecasts... rainy one minute, sunny the next. It's also getting much darker at night earlier... I feel like a mole who needs to go into hibernation!

Vinniey said...

Please count me into the draw. The chart is so lovely. Thanks for the chance, Melissa. October here in Malaysia is always rain with some thunder boomers. :)

Mary said...

Hi Melissa,
Thank you for the chance to be included in your giveaway.
The weather here has been cold, rainy and damp following a long hot summer. The leaves are starting to change but we can't enjoy them because we're inside.
Maybe next week will improve a bit.
I love Gazette 94, doesn't she have adorable charts?
Love your blog and shared stitching!

I'd love a chance to enter your drawing. I have 2 kittens (named Mischief and Mayhem) who LOVE to look out the window - it's like kitty TV to them!

October is my anniversary month! It will be 5 years this year! It's raining here now - and reminds me of my wedding day. We practically had a monsoon that day!

And, as for market, the one thing I HAD to get was the Lizze Kate Merry birds. Too cute!

Take care, and thanks for the chance! ~Kat

I'd love to be included in your giveaway. October brings the lovely fall colors to my little corner of Iowa. Fall is a close runner-up to Spring for my favorite season.
