Next Up - a Red Bird

Last time I finished a cat (Olga) so then I thought I would follow the animal theme and stitch a bird - a red one.

Many of you will recognize this as "Tis the Season" from the Joyeux Noel book by those talented ladies of Blackbird Designs!  This was the first project I've had using Belle Soie silks. Oh, stop me, but I'm getting so spoiled stitching with silks! It's like once you start, it's hard to go back to cottons!

Thank you for all your comments on my last post, especially letting me know that Paulette has a companion to Olga, and that's Boris! I Love Boris and he will be definitely on my to-stitch list.

I don't have much to say in this post. It's been rainy buckets. I think the seasonal blues may be hitting me already! So, I just stitch-and-show!

Thank you again for visiting, your comments and your uplifting words! Have a great week and please come again!

Love your new WIP Melissa! This is a real favourite project of mine :)

I hear you on the seasonal blues - it's been overcast and cloudy here and my mood has been glum as a result. Keep sharing your lovely stitching though, even if you don't have much to say :)

Oh I love your Tis the Season! So pretty! I know what you mean about stitching with silks. I do love them! :D It's still weird to me that it's just about fall. I get seasonal blues too -- bleagh!

Love this piece! And it's looking gorgeous!
It's raining here too. It's dark and gloomy, the perfect day to settle into a comfy chair and stitch.

Beautiful stitching as always!

You can send some of that rain my way...especially with all the wildfires we've had recently, we could really use the moisture!

Hi Melissa, love your BB piece. It's on my never ending list, too. Glad to hear you're enjoying stitching with silk. Keep it up and you'll forget all about cotton. They're addicting.

Love the red bird--I have that book and now I want to start him. Seasonal blues: I'll change places with you. Still summer here, sunny every day, temps in the 80s--so sick of it. I'd love to have a nice cool rainy day for stitching.

This one's a lovely design and those silk threads show it up well. Fast progress on it too, Melissa! Hugs~

Love your new WIP!!! Yes, using silks is such a nice experience! I don't seem to use them often enough now. Rainy here too these days, a real mix of autumn weather.
