New Sampler Wall

Here is the second installment of the framed pieces:

 Windmill Sampler
by Examplar from the Heart
The photo does not do it justice. The frame is a deep gold-y colour and really brings out those tones from the sampler.
A Weary World Rejoices
by Shakespeare's Peddler

You may remember that I'd shown you an old Cricket Collection piece stitched on aida that was in this frame. Well, I'm so glad I re-used that frame for this piece. I just love how this turned out, and this became the focal point to build my new sampler wall.

And now, here's a new Sampler wall of smaller pieces that I gathered together. Except for the small piece in the lower right hand corner, all the pieces were stitched in 2009.

New Sampler Wall 2010

Coincidentally this wall is directly opposite the other Sampler Wall that I built last year. This one is in our living room and the other is in the hallway.

Thank you for all your comments about the framed pieces and sharing my giddiness with stash-happiness with me!  I'll be back soon with the last two pieces of the framing.

I hope for all of you snowed under in the U.S. that you are keeping safe and warm and able to use it as an excuse to stitch to your hearts' content! Till next time, thank you for stopping by!

This is so beautiful!
I was just pondering thoughts this week of stitching and making a sampler wall in an upstairs bedroom.
It will take me a long time to fill it up but yours look so beautiful, I love it!

Beautiful frames!

Pure beauty, good for you:) Can't really tell if your wall paint is colored or beige, if it is colored, it's a perfect compliment, well done.

Melissa - your wall looks great. You've stitched some wonderful samplers to put together. I'm trying to do a couple of sampler walls myself - slow progress especially because I blog instead of stitch! LOL

Too wonderful! Sounds like you've got a "sampler house" rather than just a "Sampler Wall. :D

Oh Melissa, they are both so beautiful and your sampler wall is looking fantastic! Such wonderful designs and beautiful colours.

I'm definitely going to build an Eiffel Tower wall somewhere in the house :)

Your frame choices are perfect for their pieces, Melissa! I especially like that you were able to re-use an old frame but I swear, it looks like it was made for that piece - perfect! your wall is just beautiful! All the pieces work so well together and the wall color is a great background.

Spectacular! I love your new framed pieces, and I really love your new sampler wall! I've discovered that my problem is I stitch pieces that are so big, they take up the whole wall! lol! I need to stitch more smaller pieces!

We're supposed to be snowed in tomorrow. DS is happy!

I love those samplers and how you arranged them. I ended up making my own, but ended up a mini pillow. I have books coming from the library, so hoping they have some good prim samplers that I can make for my house.

Beautiful sampler wall...I especially love the BOAF pieces! =)

I wish I could be snowed in. I could use some extra stitching time...no stitching the last two days. I'm beside myself already! lol

You've chosen wonderful frames that compliment your gorgeous samplers perfectly! And I can't believe all the gorgeous samplers you have for your 2010 sampler wall already...and we're only in the middle of February!!! I can give you my address for when you run out of room, LOL ;)

Your work is gorgeous.

I have been thinking about doing a wall with stitched pieces. But I will have to wait until we have a place of our own again!!

Have a wonderful day.

That wall is just awesome. I love them all - I couldn't pick one that I love the best even if you offered me for nothing I couldn't choose.

I love your sampler wall, and the lovely frames you chose to complement them so beautifully. You mentioned collecting sheep and shepherd sampler charts lately--have you got Shepard Care Samplar and Ba Ba Black Sheep? They're both by Little by Little (I noticed you had a couple designs by them in your new stash).

Lois said...

This looks wonderful Melissa! I do so love your two walls!!! As always, I'm seeing designs I have in my stash and have yet to stitch and this just makes me want to go and get started on them! Great frames for all your pieces.

I've just discovered your blog, and I had to comment - I love your sampler wall. I have enough wall space to create a couple of sampler walls myself, but I can't make the plunge into doing it - I've so "symmetrical" with my picture placing that I can't bring myself to do anything differently; maybe seeing yours will help me overcome that issue!

I'm catching up with your posts today, and have really enjoyed seeing your wonderful finishes. Love the wall of samplers!

Hi Melissa, your sampler wall is beautiful, it;s so lovely to see a collection of beauties all together. Can i please ask who is the designer of the piece on the bottom left?
