OK, so back to stitching. I'm working on Birds of a Feather by Blackbird Designs. I'll start off with this Mexican looking basket that seemed to go on forever with the stripes!
But it's a wonderful piece to stitch. Here's where I am today:
Imagine this piece with a tan! The colours are unfortunately so washed out in the photos. The linen is WDW Parchment and is a lovely soft tan colour. For those who wish to stitch this, there are some errors in the chart but you can easily figure them out by looking at the colour photo. Now, for those of you on the 'dark side', here's my current scissor collection!
Just arrived courtesy of Yuko! Thank you! These are just beautiful!
My Kelmscott collectionOK. I can hear you say "you need to diversify and get some silver ones, and more gold ones, and what about ones with coloured handles?" How about these for a laugh? I love these scissors from the French Needle - how about this one, or this other one, or ...quick, get the smelling salt! I feel a fainting spell coming on! Oh my word, I adore them! But no, I don't think they are coming to my home at all, but a girl can dream! ;-)
Well, tis the weekend, and right now I see some sunshine out there! I hope you have a good weekend and if the weather is poor, that you can suggle down and stitch. This is my 99th post. The next one, being 100th will have a giveaway.
Thanks for coming by! See you soon!

Ohhhh, I love the colors in your Birds of a Feather! So pretty! Can't wait to see more! And your scissors collection -- nice! I just got a pair in the mail from Yuko today too. :D My scissors collection is rather embarrassing. But no scissors from the French Needle. I wish! lol!
Melissa, BOAF is coming along wonderfully - I just love this piece. And the scissors, oh how I love scissors. I am anxiously awaiting my package from Yuko. Aren't those scissors from the French Needle amazing, but $500+, really?
Congrats on #99 - visiting your blog is always a treat!
Have a great weekend.
Cari
Nice collection of scissors! I love the scissors from Yuko, they have such interesting handles. BOAF is looking good too!
Enjoy your weekend!
Ooh! I love your BBD BOAF - such gorgeous colours!
Birds of a Feather is looking great! I love the colors!
Those scissors are beautiful - if I had any extra money right now, I do believe I'd have to get me a pair, or two, or three.....
Okay, I made the horrible mistake of hitting that link for those scissors! AUGHHH! Being the scissor whore that I've become, I'm finding those hard to resist. And I still haven't received my scissors from Yuko, but they should arrive any day!!
And you're making great progress on your BBD. I really like that pattern quite a bit!
I never really noticed the colors in this design before! They are so nice and I love all of different colors in the basket. It really gives a great texture.
I love the colors in the BOAF, coming along nicely. Scissors, we just can't get enough of them. I'm waiting for some from Yuko, hopefully next week. It's a beautiful day out there, enjoy it.
I just picked up a rather battered copy of this at an EGA silent auction (I posted a blog entry with my haul!) so thank you for the warning about errors. Congratulations about the 100th!
Love the colors in the BBD, that's one I don't have yet.
When I saw those scissors on staci's and went to yuko's site my heart was pounding oh so loud and fast, lol
They were sold out, arghhh!!!! I am keeping eyes on her site for them to be there again for purchase.
Did you ever see my beautiful scissors frog from a winning on Deb's blog? I love it. I only need like 5 more for all the scissors I have acquired all these years.
I am on a mission,lol
Have a great weekend!
yYah for 99 posts, Melissa! You've got a great blog and I always enjoy my visit. I love your stitching; it's really coming along. I can't wait to see more. Seems like we all ordered scissors from Yuko! I ordered 3 pair as well - I can't wait to get them. I was gifted a pair of Sajou scissors that I just love and treasure (the ones with the faux mother of pearl handle) but they aren't nearly as expensive as the ones I clicked on at $570! Geesh! Not me..... You've got a lovely collection going.
Congratulations on the 99th posting!
Your scissor collection is GORGEOUS.
Hi Melissa,
You are FLYING on Birds of a Feather. Looks wonderful, and I love the more subtle colors that you chose.
Those scissors... be still my heart!! I am off to check out Yuko. Those are GORGEOUS!!!!!
Have a great weekend!
Your sampler is lovely! I love this design and want to stitch it some time this year. Wonderful scissor collection!
Your scissors are awesome!!!! Now I am going to have to pull out my BBD and get to work on it after seeing yours -very enabling. I hope I have the threads to start stitching it.
I love your Blackbird Designs piece!!!!! It is beautiful!!!! And all those scissors!!! Wow!!
Congratulations on your 99th post!!! I've enjoyed reading them very much!!! You've reminded me to check my own postings and I was surprised that I'm on 96 already!!!!
Melissa, your stitching look great! I look forward on your progress ;)
Scissors ... no comment :D You have a very nice collection.
Congratulations on your 99th post. I like to read you ;)
Have a very nice day!
Eva
Loving Birds of a Feather - such a nice piece! Wonderful scissors. I'm avoiding those links, I'm trying to avoid the dark side ....... so far so good but who knows how long I'll last!!!!
Congrats on the 99th post!! I have some ways to go before I'm even near that number!!
Have a good weekend.
That BOAF pattern is looking absolutely lovely, Melissa. Looking forward to seeing more of it.
Your scissors from Yuko are wonderful. Can't wait to get mine!
I love Birds Of A Feather, what a wonderful design. I love the scissors you purchased and the ones from the French Needle, but the price. Lucky I was already sitting down!
Oh, what a beautiful project this is. But aren't those BBDs all beautiful?
Nice addition to your scissors collection. I've seen those on Yuko's blog and I must admit that they are a real temptation. So we will see ...
I have just admired the pillow covers you showed in your last post. And that quilt looks terrific. I admire everyone who is able to definitely finish a quilt. All my quilts are UFOs. Unfortunately.
Oooh, Melissa, your BOAF looks fantastic! I had such fun with this sampler. YGG with the scissor collection!
Nice progress on BD! I have never seen this design close up.
It's really easy to develop a scissor addiction. I have a real bad one when it comes to everything with colored handles.
Your sampler is gorgeous. The colors are really nice. It is a shame that pics sometimes don't show the colors a bit better. I found this with my alphabet SAL. The Yawning Mountain from HDF is so much prettier in life than the pic shows.
Keep up the beautiful work. I will be following your blog.
Have a blessed weekend.
Cool scissors! I too love to collect them.
Beautiful progress on Birds of a Feather Melissa! I just love this design! I love all your new scissors too! :)
Thanks a ton for making me look at TFN's site again. That wound had become nothing more that an old scar. ;)
But, really, I was "happy" to see it again because I don't think I saw the cat scissors last time. Oh, how I want them!! I also really want(ed) the fox & grapes scissors--have you see those?
:D
I'm going to console myself with the idea that even now 2 pair of scissors are en route to me from Yuko, and the 2 perimeter ones you got from her are already in my hot little paws these 5 months--albeit for price that was akin to highway robbery! :D
I love your little scissor collection! A collection is not made all at once and soon enough you'll fill in the gaps. :D
Oh WOW your stitching is amazing - I LOVE IT!
Love
Patti xxx
Birds of a Feather looks wonderful. And those scissors ... I think I drooled on my keyboard.
I would love to be considered for your giveaway. What a nice thing to do. Thanks for the chance,Kimberly
